Hawaii 2012. Biking, beach and food...

So after opening our new store in Henderson, Brad and I needed a BREAK...so what better way to get away and relax then a wonderful trip to Hawaii.....

We went with our friends, John and Marissa Moss and we had a wonderful time.  Lots of great, fun activities and LOTS of great food.

The Life...
After arriving Saturday afternoon at our Turtle Bay condo, we were in the condo about 10 minutes before we hit the beach.   We all brought our own snorkel gear, so we were able to snorkel when ever we wanted to.  So to the beach we went.   After the beach, we drove into Laie and looked around and then walked out onto a some what "local only beach"  there were lots of campers there for the holiday weekend.  As we were walking in the parking lot, heading to the beach, Marissa made the comment "this must be a great beach, look at all the locals here"  she said this looking at the license plates in the parking lot, and John pointed out to here that we were on an island and all of the plates would be "local" because no one would drive there....

That night on the way back from town, we round the Kahuku Grill.  For those of you going to the North Shore, this is a must stop and eat and eat and eat.  They have the most amazing food and over the stay of our trip, we eat there 3 times.   Marissa and I both enjoyed the Coconut Macadamia Nut Shrimp, just melts in your mouth.  Brad and John both agreed that the burgers were about the best they had ever had...so if you are traveling the North Shore, STOP and eat there....

Oh Yeah Baby.....we enjoyed the food of Kahuku Grill 3 times...

Brad, eating what he said is one of the best burgers ever....

The next morning we walked down to the Activity Center at the Resort and rented bikes for the day..Marissa and I rented Beach Cruisers (we were a little bummed because they were not pink with baskets, but they did have a little bell) and Brad and John rented the mountain bikes...We rode a little over 20 miles over the course of the day.   We rode along the beach and through the wooded area around the golf course.  Then we rode into Laie and walked all around the Temple Grounds.  The ride into town and back is amazing.  Beautiful, green and the ocean, what else do you need.
