Well it is spring time and that means our annual camping trip to Zion National Park. Sammi took the shuttle down from Salt Lake City, and her friend Julie, drove up to join us again (She really is like our second daughter). We always enjoy this time away from the city and just enjoy sitting around the camp fire and talking. We also love to play games and I must say I was a hard one to beat this year.
Brad and I took our bikes and he took a ride from Zion all the way into Hurricane and back. About 50 miles round trip. While he was on his bike, Sammi, Julie and I took an amazing hike called Hidden Canyon. I have been going to Zion for about 25 years and just had never done this one. It was beautiful...there are a few steep cliffs, but all worth it. We had beautiful weather during the day, but boy the nights were cold....each year I keep saying we need to get a tent trailer, but then a whole year passes and back in the tents we go. I will say we have big blow up mattresses, electrical outlets, so we are able to watch movies and use electric skillets, so not really as bad as 20 years ago.
The time goes by so quickly, and before we know it, Sammi is back on the Shuttle and Julie and ourselves heading home....looking forward to next year when our Elder is back and camping with
us.....
